A little nudge for accountability, clarity, & JOy!
Are you feeling a lack of accountability as it relates to goals that you have for yourself or your farm business? Do you feel like the people you have around you just don’t ‘get it’ as it relates to how you use intuition to make decisions?
Maybe you’re looking to learn about a more holistic approach to goal setting and finding clarity with your goals.
If you feel like you’re a failure when you’re not able to show up for yourself, let alone those around you, I know exactly what you’re going through.
Don’t worry, honey. I’ve been there. I’ve struggled with:
- Working a ton
- Not spending enough time with loved ones
- Feeling like there’s a lack of balance in my life
- Putting to-do lists off or being overwhelmed by the daily to-do list
- Being so hard on myself that my negative self-talk puts me in a deeper spiral of sadness or exhaustion
- Hearing complaints from friends and loved ones that I never rest or take time for myself
- Feeling like I want to completely walk away from my work and do something else that allows me to have more free time
The funny thing is that it wasn’t until I realized I was the problem, and started taking responsibility for the life I was creating, that things started to change. I also realized that I operated a lot better when I had other people around me to hold me accountable to the changes I wanted to make in my life.
Sometimes, creating a container for yourself with a deadline is the most effective way to keep stuff moving forward.
Hence, joining many online courses and investing in coaching over the years, even after graduate school, because it was more enjoyable to get feedback on my vision for my life than operate in a silo, wondering if what I wanted was crazy as hell.
YOUR DAILY PEACE AND FULFILLMENT MATTERS MORE TO YOU AND THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU THAN YOU REALIZE.
It’s hard to say the exact point in time when I realized that I was of greater service to those around me, and more enjoyable to be around, when I was taking care of myself. But as soon as I did, my world started to shift.
I started seeing new opportunities come my way for work, my friendships became so much deeper, magical things would literally happen all the time, and the doubts I have about what I’m capable of started to dim into the background of my life.
So here’s the experiment. Slots are open for business development coaching, and I’m not sure for how long. This is part of what I’m calling ‘The Lab’ of Mezclada, where we try stuff out, see what fits, and help farmers and food professionals along the way.
If any of what I’ve described sounds like what you’re experiencing right now, this might just be the thing you need to alter the direction of your future in a way that is in alignment with your goals. I trust that whoever is interested at this time is meant to work with me.
PRAISE
I’m so grateful to support people like Nancy! Check out what she had to say about our time working together.
As an entrepreneur myself, I get it. If you don’t have someone who is checking in on you, or being your personal cheerleader, stuff just gets pushed out further and further on the calendar. And then you start questioning whether that thing is actually a priority at all.
Unfortunately I’ve been in this situation too many times. More than I would like to admit. Times when I focused so intensely on my work and on business that pushed people away who loved me and wanted to support me – by spending quality time together.
At one point I realized that I was building up this expectation in others that my work mattered more than them. And I’m still in the process of renegotiating these boundaries, letting others know that they do indeed matter more to me than work. I’m quite certain it will take years for those who have known me forever to adjust.
But I’m not going to wait years to offer you the thing that I wish I had invested in earlier in life...
… a source of accountability and a set of practical, actionable tools that could help me bring more clarity to my goals and resources that could assist in following through on those goals in a way that aligned with my values of health and wellness as opposed to the grind.
I recognize that both farmers AND food systems professionals I’ve worked with struggle with burnout, having daily schedules that don’t allow them time to rest and recharge, and feel like the work they do is never enough.
So my business development coaching slots will be open to both. Please note that my rates for farmers is lower than for food systems professionals, as I highly value the thankless work of our food systems workers. For all of you food systems professionals out there, your pricing helps offset the subsidized rate for our farmers. We thank you for believing in and supporting your fellow producers!
*If you identify as both a farmer and food systems professional, please choose the coaching package that you feel best aligns with your current financial situation*
Why Business development Coaching Works
I say this from personal experience. When you have to show up (either virtually or in person) you’re called out on your bullshit. I love that, because I’m not afraid of constructive criticism. I am hungry for edits, feedback, and whatever else will help me get closer to becoming the woman I know I’m capable of in this lifetime. I also love homework, and generally respond well to deadlines.
Coaching can be super effective because you’ll receive:
- Resources summarized afterwards
- We’ll block off time in your calendar during meetings to ensure that you’re making time to prioritize your goals
- A different perspective about something you may have been mulling over for months or even years
- An encouraging cheerleader who is invested in your success and will push you out of your comfort zone

You can book a single session, a set of 3, or 6, which will give you an added boost of accountability and support to reach your goals. So what the hell are we going to talk about, anyways?
We’re going to make this a time for you to get the most out of our time together. This means customizing and personalizing the conversation to the utmost degree. What you want to talk about is what we’ll cover, ensuring that we’re setting goals along the way that align with your values and the vision that you hold, for either your farm, your personal life, or your professional work.
Some topic areas that we could cover, but we’re certainly not limited to, include:
- Financial literacy & financial goals
- How to lead up
- How to stand up for yourself in the professional environment
- Setting healthy boundaries
- Creating a more inclusive environment in the workplace
- Showing up with more authenticity to your work and in community
- Respectfully challenging the systems around you and the status quo
- How to facilitate meaningful conversations and plan effective community events
- Systems for keeping your digital workspace organized
- Strategies for building effective habits and ensuring follow-through on your goals
What I ask of you:
- Keep an open mind
- Bring a sense of humor. We take our work seriously but we don’t take ourselves seriously. 🙂
What I’ll bring to the table:
- Our passion for your success
- A toolbox of resources, people, courses, ideas, books, and strategies that we’ve built over the years from 1) my work on farms and 2) in the professional space of food systems planning and community/economic development.
- Deep listening skills and attention to the stories that you’re telling yourself that you may not even be aware of.
