Did you know? 65% of businesses in the U.S. and the UK are owned by a Baby Boomer...

This means a LOT of businesses are for sale. And you could be the future buyer.

That’s why I decided to launch a month-long Intensive, a container for collaborative learning, where we’ll dig into the who’s who and the what’s what when it comes to buying a FARM business.

Some of the things I’m most excited about in this endeavor:

  • Nothing is off the table in terms of content. If it sounds interesting and relevant, I want to explore it.
  • Guest speakers galore! I’ll be bringing in experts in business valuation, exit planning, financial advising, and more to share their insights with us.
  •  Learning from fellow farmers

Why shouldn't starting your farm business be fun?

One of Mezclada’s core values is LOVE, which means that I don’t like to take things so seriously. I want to learn alongside you and bring the spirit of curiosity to this journey.

I literally have no expectations around the outcome of this, other than to help you:

  • Become more financially literate when it comes to business
  • Understand what a good vs. bad deal looks like when it comes to buying an existing farm
  • How to spot your unfair advantage when it comes to you as a buyer
  • Know who/what your resources are within your community that you can lean on for help and advice
  • Explore where businesses are for sale within your state and how much they cost
  • Become more knowledgeable about seller financing

If any of those things sound interesting to you and putting a downpayment on a piece of undeveloped land looks pretty daunting, then this is probably a great fit for you.

Please know, this list of learning goals is co-creative! I want us to create a set of goals together. Maybe you even have a suggestion for a guest speaker or two!

This intensive is designed to serve a global audience!

Given my nomadic nature, I’ve built networks across the globe, in every country I’ve visited, and I’m SO excited to share their wisdom with you, as well as engage you wherever you may find yourself in the world.

I strive to make the principles of my work universal – so that no matter where you are, you can take something away from this experience and apply it in your local context.

Answers To Your Questions

That’s just a fancy way of saying a container for learning. I learn best when I create concrete start and stop dates for my work. Otherwise, I find that I get overwhelmed and I don’t know when to stop.

June 12th-July 12th, 2024

No worries! Just sign up and we’ll be sending all the content that’s live via recordings. You’ll have access to this information up to 10 days after the conclusion of the Intensive.

Absolutely not! This is designed as a BETA course, which means that the only thing I request in exchange for your participation is constructive feedback to make it even better and more valuable for future students!

No way! I’ll be bringing in guest speakers from across the globe. We may even offer some content in Spanish for our Costa Rican-based followers and community members. Nothing is off the table. 🙂 Given the diverse timezones that we’ll be operating across, all live content will be recorded for easy access afterwards.

Plus, much of the content will be included as recommended reading/listening, which you can pursue on your own time, in a way that works for your schedule.

For U.S.-based participants, we understand that we’re entering the height of the growing season, after all!
