Details: PartnerSHIP 4 Health received funding from an area foundation to create a regional food systems plan, which stemmed from a regional planning process called the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, and successful local efforts at merging economic development with local food production and access in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. This project entailed designing the outreach and engagement strategy for a four-county region, data collection and analysis, project management, writing of a Regional Food Systems Plan, and translation to Spanish.

2nd Contract Length: 4 months

Details: Mezclada’s contract was extended to help with the formation of the West Central Minnesota Regional Food Council, now the West Central Food Council. This involved setting up foundational term documents and systems, creating a plan for agendas, recruiting members, soliciting and reviewing applications, and facilitating the first several meetings of the Council, as well as grant writing to support the position and the Council’s work. This resulted in two secured grants from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the Earth Rising Foundation.
3rd Contract Length: 12 months

Details: Mezclada is supported through funding from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency to provide Project Coordination services to the West Central Food Council. This includes all responsibilities of the previous contract, in addition to new grant reporting requirements – overseeing that the budget is spent and tracked according to the original grant application.
