Today’s task:
Make plans for calling in big money
Today marks my first day abroad! And boy do I feel good. Situational magnetism at its best!
This is the first time that I’ve traveled abroad and felt like I was home. Instead of feeling a ton of tension in my body and shortness of breath, as I usually do when going to a new place, I instead just took a deep breath and felt my whole body release with joy!
“This is your new home” was what my inner voice said as we landed. When the flight attendant welcomed everyone on the plane to Costa Rica, everyone cheered! That didn’t happen when we landed in Orlando.
Anyways, one of the cards that was pulled for this week’s tarot reading was ‘experience’, and while I was waiting in line at the grocery store this evening, it hit me that each of my previous trips to Costa Rica have prepared me for this moment. My experience is what makes me feel so damn calm and that everything is going to be okay. The world isn’t ending, I’ve got all ten fingers and toes, I didn’t lose anything during my flights, and I seem to be getting around just fine, no tour guide needed.
For every prior minute I have spent in Costa Rica I am so grateful. I’m grateful for every person I have met, for every hard moment that forced me to learn a lesson, and for the warmth of the Ticos. Driving by the stadium today in San Jose, I smiled because the last time I was there, I took a bus to and from Jacó to see a soccer game. It was one of my favorite memories, stopping to grab a frozen cappuccino from Pops, running back to get another, and taking a look at paintings along the roadside before hopping on the bus.
I feel in many ways that today marks a big shift in energy. I feel that I’m much closer to where my heart knows it belongs. And I used the time on the plane today to write out some information related to a sponsorship packet for Aligned Farm Design. It was a lot of fun, putting together the information that will eventually go to help pay for farmers to attend my courses at a discounted rate. Reading more of The Body Keeps the Score also helped me make the connection between this work and bigger initiatives and research agendas, such as work being done by the National Institute of Health and the Institute for Mental Health.
A partnership opportunity I’m particularly excited about is that of working with centers for healing. I want to bring together soil scientists, economic developers, alternative healers, researchers, and farmer technical assistance providers under the same roof so that they can see the same thing that I do – we’re all connected. And our success depends on understanding each other.
Anyways, your task for today is to go for a walk and think about what plans you will make in the next week to call in big money. Then write it down!
