Today’s task:
Take the day off
The last couple of days have been filled with driving through the mountains, rivers, and streams, hiking to waterfalls, stumbling upon an exquisite sauna, thoughtful conversation in the bed of a truck, breathtaking views, losing my hat to the wind, and getting set up in my new digs here in Santa Teresa.
No se puede imaginar la belleza aquí, ni la diversidad cultural que existe en este pueblito playero.
I don’t even know if playera is a word, but I’m going to say it is, and use it as an adjective to describe the coastal culture here. I think for the fourth time, the other person on the side of the Zoom call this morning commented that “You’re glowing.”
It’s inevitable that one should glow when they are filled with joy from the sun, fantastical adventures, and mindful moments connected to nature.
My heart is swelling with love and joy as I think about the people I have met in the last few days, and the people who will continue to surround me in the coming weeks. I think I know now that the Universe took me on a different path so that I could be here.
Today’s task is to take a break. We get so engrained in this idea that the best results come from pushing, but I’m here to tell you that the truth is anything but that.
Take the day off. Fake that you’re sick and set up your automated message through email to let folks know that you’ll get back to them soon, letting the day take you to new places. Sleep. Eat. Laugh. Dance. Cry. Read. Do whatever your soul is telling you to do today, because you deserve it. And ain’t nobody gonna tell you otherwise. 🙂 You have my full permission to do so.
